Corporate History

1958
Ishizuka Electronics Corporation established with a capital of JPY 500,000 and commenced manufacture of varistors in Edogawa Ward, Tokyo, Japan.
1960
Chiba Plant in Narashino City, Chiba Prefecture (Japan) newly constructed for the production of bulk-type NTC thermistors.
1964
Osaka Sales Office established.

Chiba Plant relocated from Narashino City to Chiba City.
1988
Headquarter building construction in Tokyo completed. Move from Edogawa ward to Sumida ward.
1989
SEMITEC USA CORPORATION established in New York, U.S.A.
1990
Fully automated production line began operation at Building No.10, Chiba Plant.
1992
Production start of “FT Thermistors” commenced using thin film technology.
1994
Nagoya sales office established.

Chiba Plant ISO 9002 certified.
1995
SEMITEC (HONG KONG) CO.,LTD established in Hong Kong and P.R.C.
1996
SEMITEC TAIWAN CORPORATION established in Taipei, Taiwan.
2000
“World Technology Centre” as the center of technological development in Chiba Plant established.

Building a global quality control structure

SEMITEC Corporation’s World Technology Center centrally manages a comprehensive quality control system which ensures that all our customers’ quality needs and expectations are met at all of our manufacturing facilities.

All manufacturing facilities are ISO 9001 certified

All SEMITEC production facilities base their process – everything from procurement to distribution – on the twin principles of “local production for local consumption” and “production in the optimal location for maximum efficiency”.

Quality Control Process

Producing locally has many advantages including efficient communication, accurate information exchange, efficient and lower cost delivery, and shorter lead-times. SEMITEC group has earned very high levels of customer trust with respect to its quality management. All Semitec production facilities are ISO 9001:2015 certified, exemplifying our commitment to quality assurance.
